Late night brainstorms, ideas scribbled on napkins, after-hours emails—the dedication of a creator is unparalleled. Here at Teachable, we know that part of the magic of being a creator is the mess, the process, the journey. Wherever you are now on the road to sharing your passion, we want you to understand the change you, our creators, make each and every day. As we end the year, we want to celebrate those times you put in the work. More importantly, we want to remind you it was all worth it.

Worth the work

With every feature or product launch, group challenge, summit series, and piece of content published here at Teachable, our goals remain the same: to help you increase your impact, transform the lives of your students, and ensure you get the most out of your time with us.

Creators are always worth the work for us. Most importantly, what you do is always worth the work for your students.

Join us for an inspiring look back at 2021 with Teachable creator successes by the numbers. Help us celebrate the impact you have every day. And if you’re just starting out, take this as a chance to inspire your own journey.

Creators

We always want to give our creators the tools to succeed. Last year, we introduced coaching on Teachable. This year we expanded and improved the ways in which creators can boost earnings across the platform.

Our order bump feature gave you the option to tack on an additional product at checkout. Consider this our version of, “Do you want fries with that?” Next came improvements to the way we allow you to bundle. You now have flexibility to bundle courses and coaching together for the most comprehensive experience yet. We’ve also expanded how you offer coupons.

With changes like this and the hard work of creators, there was a 38% increase in creators with six-figure earnings from 2020 and a 48% increase in creators with seven-figure earnings from 2020.

Courses

What you teach and the way you teach it is entirely unique to you. When it comes to courses, we’ve seen it all on Teachable. From drone flying to soil analysis to poetry writing to running a business on Etsy and more, Teachable creators are knowledgable in every field under the sun.

The most popular course categories for 2021 are:

  1. Personal development
  2. Business and marketing
  3. Health and wellness
  4. Software and technology
  5. Academics and learning
  6. Other

Although Other makes up the largest portion of creator course topics, we know it’s because creators are taking their knowledge in anything and everything and growing a business. Because of this, there was a 14% increase in total earned from courses in 2021. Thinking of starting a course of your own? The market is only growing, and we’re here to help you get your piece of the pie.
