Hi Teachable family! I hope you’ve been having an awesome month. Here are a few highlights from February:
1) We welcomed five new employees!
Specifically in Customer Care and Operations.
- Edward Yu, Kevin Stafford, and Ronald Chavez started as Customer Care Associates
- Zareef Ahmed joined Customer Care Operations
- Nick Rasch started as Operations Manager
2) We raised money with the Teachable Pledge.
Last month we announced our commitment to supporting civil liberties and immigrant and refugee advocacy. With the help of instructors who joined the pledge, we collectively raised over $38,000 for donation this month.
3) We started a weekly update series in the Teachable Tribe.
Our community team is starting something new - weekly updates in our Teachable Tribe Facebook group! (See the first one here!) These updates will include things like product changes, Knowledge Base highlights and other Teachable tips and tricks.
Certain schools can now disable myTeachable
In order to support instructors who may have enabled myTeachable account access on their school but prefer not to use it permanently, we’ve introduced the ability for certain schools to disable myTeachable.
Currently, if you’re a school owner on the Basic plan or above and have under 100 students on your school, you can now disable myTeachable in Settings > Labs. To learn more about this ability, see this post in our Changelog and the associated Knowledge Base article.
Checkout page changes
We redesigned checkout pages to make the experience more streamlined and intuitive for students, improving conversion rates across your school.
Specifically, students who sign up on a myTeachable-enabled school will not be redirected to a myTeachable signup page that disrupts their flow: rather, account creation now takes place on a school-branded page that fits into a two-step checkout process. Furthermore, confirmation emails are now school-branded rather than Teachable-branded.

Webhooks UX improvements
We redesigned our webhooks pages to make it easier for you to add, edit, and test webhooks. At a glance, you’ll be able to see whether or not a webhook is verified and how many times it has been triggered, and when you click to edit a webhook you’ll access a more detailed trigger history.
Four unsuccessful triggers will auto-disable the webhook, but you can manually re-enable it from the edit page.

Help center improvements
Our first set of changes to the help center make it easier for you to get the answers you need. We heard your feedback and made the following changes:
- Added a Knowledge Base search box so you can instantly check there for guidance
- Listed our support hours so you know when to expect a reply
- Added a “Subject” field for ticket submissions to better categorize them

What’s an interesting Teachable school that you’ve come across?
Pickup Jazz - I played jazz guitar growing up and even wrote a few numbers, so when I came across this school I was pretty excited!
What are you most excited about going forward?
I’m stoked about where EdTech is heading as an industry. I used to teach Spanish in a classroom, and to experience how we’re enabling passionate individuals to reach eager students all over the world is a teacher’s dream.
What's Happening Next Month
Although we were hoping to release this feature in February, we needed a few extra days to work out some kinks. You can now expect sitewide coupons in early March.
We’re excited to watch you explore the possibilities of this feature, whether you want to reach into the courses-as-gifts space, reward loyal users, write an email funnel to upsell other courses with discounts, build a “one price, any course” marketing campaign where you sell 100%-off schoolwide coupons, or simply run schoolwide promotional events where one code can apply for a percentage amount off any course. So many options!
Redesigned email templates
We’ve been working on updating the design and copy of the auto-emails that get sent to you and your students—from confirmation emails to heads-up emails about billing errors and more.
These email templates are always customizable on Basic plans and up with the Template Editor, but we want to make them as clear, friendly, and attractive as possible so your job is easy.
Page Editor 2.0
This won’t happen for a couple months, but just to get you pumped: we’re starting work on a total revamp of our page editor. Whether you’re creating a sales page, homepage, about page, or others across your school, you’ll be able to see exactly what it looks like as you’re building it and have total control over the experience. More details to come—stay tuned!
