This summer, we're more focused than ever on expanding our team so we can continue to support our growing community and develop amazing features to improve the student and instructor experience (and have fun while we do it).
We already had three new employees join us in June:
- Ben Bertincourt as Data Scientist
- Honor Hawkins and Alexander Curtis as Customer Educators
So far, we have four more new employees joining the company in July! We’re super excited to welcome these new team members.
We love working with people who are already familiar with Teachable, so you or someone you know could be the next perfect fit for one of our positions. Check out our current openings here (and tell your friends!). We have some awesome summer plans in the works and can't wait for new hires to join in—the more the merrier!
Fun Things #teamteachable Is Doing This Summer
Flag Football Team
It’s basically becoming tradition to take part in a sport as a company. Last year we did kickball. And this year we’re doing flag football.
Go team go!
Company Outings or Events
We like to do fun things together as a team throughout the year. Our last outing was going to see Wonder Woman.
Some of our ideas for the summer are a BBQ and/or boat party!
Catering Every Other Friday
We do this all year long, not just during the summer—we just like to prove people wrong when they say there's no such thing as a free lunch.
Company Retreat in September
Last year we went to WeWork summer camp. But we’re no longer in a WeWork space -- we’re adults now -- so this year we're going to "the camp for grown-ups". Camp No Counselors! We'll detox from technology for a couple days, play sports, make s'mores by the campfire, and basically just have a blast together.
New Features and Updates
Here are a few product highlights from the month that we think you'll like :)
Official Weekend Support Hours
When problems happen on the weekend, we don't want to leave you hanging until Monday...so we are now officially offering weekend support hours from 10am - 6pm EST.
Reach support through our help form.
Comments Section Updates
Image uploading has entered the building! We're happy to introduce this often-requested feature: enabling students to attach images directly to their lecture comments.
We made this optional, so if you want comment attachments available on your school, simply switch on the toggle in Settings > General > Comments.
To learn more about image uploading in comments, read the changelog post here.
Images aren't the only cool thing to happen to comments, though: we also added the ability to hyperlink to individual comments, and we introduced pagination to prevent too many comments from loading at once and slowing down page performance. Read more about those updates in this changelog post.
View all past payments you've made to Teachable in our new billing history area found in Settings > Plan. Here, you can view various transaction details, and click a button to have your receipt resent.

ConvertKit Conference - Craft + Commerce
A bunch of us headed out to Boise, Idaho, last week to attend the Craft + Commerce conference, which was all about making a living online. Speakers included Seth Godin, James Clear, and Teachable instructor Melyssa Griffin.
Below is Cameron Mattis, our Head of Sales and Accounts, with James Clear!
The team had a great time. We learned new things, made connections, got inspired, and came back to work more passionate than ever about enabling our online instructors to build their own success.
If you're a member of our Teachable Tribe Facebook community, tune in for our biweekly live Q&A sessions. They're hosted every other Wednesday at 1pm by our community manager, Noele, along with various other members of the Teachable team.
While the video is live, you can comment on it with any questions you have—or, if you're more of a plan-ahead type, submit them ahead of time on Slido (simply enter the code #TeachableTribe).
Teachable Employee Spotlight
Meet Noah Pryor
How long have you been working at Teachable?
What do you do at Teachable?
I'm the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). My day to day has changed pretty dramatically over the life of the company. Early on I spent most of my time writing code for the platform. Nowadays I spend most of my time managing engineers on my team, hiring, and thinking big-picture.
What’s the best thing about your experience working at Teachable?
I love the people I work with, but the best part for me is seeing people use Teachable to make a living and share their knowledge in ways I would never have expected when building it, be it through incredible customizations or topics that would have never occurred to me.
What’s an interesting Teachable school that you’ve come across?
Medieval sword-fighting school, http://swordschool.teachable.com/
What are you most excited about going forward?
Growing the team, hiring, building better experiences for students and better reporting.
