Thank you for your interest in The Next Big Creator Competition! We are so excited to see what you can do but we do have some terms and conditions that you must agree to in order to participate. Please note that everything on our platform, including The Next Big Creator Competition (the “Competition”), is governed by our Privacy Policy and our competition entry page. Generate sales of your new courses during the promotion period. The creator with the highest single month earnings during the six-month period across all tracks will get $100,000. The three runner-up creators with the highest single month earnings from the three other tracks (one winner per track) will get $10,000 each per creator.
ELIGIBILITY: The Competition is open to legal residents of the contiguous United States and Canada (except Quebec) who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry, and are a new or existing creator using the Teachable platform with any subscription plan, free or paid including Basic, Pro, or Business plans. Creators on an enterprise or custom plan are not eligible. The creator who registers for the Competition must be the primary owner of the school that hosts the winning course. Eligible creators must have a chargeback rate on the hosting school that is less than 0.5% and the refund rate for eligible creators must be below 10%. Employees of Techable Inc. or Hotmart Group, and its advertising or promotion agencies, those involved in the production, development, implementation or handling of Competition, any agents acting for, or on behalf of the above entities, their respective parent companies, officers, directors, subsidiaries, affiliates, licensees, service providers, prize suppliers any other person or entity associated with the Competition (collectively “Competition Entities”) and/or the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members (whether related or not) of each such employee, are not eligible. Additional ineligible parties include any Summit speakers (including but not limited to Reach Summit 2020, Share What You Know 2020, Women Create 2021, Teachable:u Live 2022, and the Creator Experience 2022), prior challenge winners (The Creator Challenge 2019, Coaching Challenge 2020, Launch Accelerator Challenge June 2021), former Teachable employees and their immediate family and household members. Creators who previously made over $250,000 lifetime revenue on Teachable or Hotmart’s platforms in the last five (5) years are also ineligible to enter this competition. Additionally, all authors, co-owners, and/or school employees of any ineligible creator or school are not eligible to compete. Additional information on creator user roles can be found here. ELIGIBLE COURSES: In order to be eligible for the Competition a course must meet the following criteria: Must be a new course. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to determine if a course can truly be considered new but some items of consideration include: No sales of the entered course prior to March 25, 2022. It can be a continuation of a prior subject or course but must contain new material for students. Must use a 30 day refund policy* Must be on a subscription plan - monthly or annual - and cannot be on an enterprise or custom plan that has a governing document beyond of Teachable’s standard Terms of Use. Must be on Teachable Payments. Must have content- meaning, entrants can pre-sell the course during the competition but that course must be fully completed and a student must be able to fully complete the course by September 30, 2022. If the presold course is not completed by September 30, 2022, the entrant will be declared ineligible for any prizes. Must set clear expectations about the course content. This means that your sales page should clearly state the following: what the content is (learning outcomes as well as course format), when the content will be made available (release date) if a presale, where it will be made available (if your course includes content that will be distributed outside of Teachable). Sales will only count on unique visitors or unique sales in the form of one sale per student customer. Must align with Teachable’s House Rules. A single creator can have more than one course entered provided the course meets all the eligibility requirements. Only one course per creator can win. *Refund policy is set at the school level, please adjust your school’s policy prior to April 1, 2022 if it is not already on a standard 30 day refund.

AGREEMENT TO OFFICIAL RULES: Participation in the Competition constitutes each entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor which are final and binding. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein. Participation in this Competition is subject to compliance with the Teachable Terms of Use located at Teachable Terms of Use. Sponsor reserves the right to make reasonable amendments to these Official Rules and the Teachable Terms of Use at any time, to qualify and verify all submissions, and to reject any submissions that do not meet the requirements for participation as established by Sponsor. All decisions made by the Sponsor concerning this Competition shall be final and binding on all entrants, in all respects. Each winner will be required to participate in the prize fulfillment process and sign documentation, such as a release and identity verification, within the timeframe specified by Sponsor.
Your participation in this Competition does not guarantee that you will succeed in generating more sales, making a sale, reaching a larger audience, or achieving any other measures of success for your business. All creators will succeed or fail at their own risk while using the Teachable Platform
Participants are prohibited from obtaining sales by any fraudulent or inappropriate means, including, without limitation, collaborating with any party or person in any way to gain sales or cause another user to lose sales, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion. Use of these techniques, or of any script, macro, or other automated or artificial system to obtain sales, or with the intent or effect of impairing the integrity of the Competition, is prohibited and all such sales will, upon discovery by the Sponsor, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, be deemed null and void and may lead to the disqualification of the applicable participant. Entries are subject to disqualification at any time if Sponsor reasonably determines in its sole discretion that: (i) the school’s content was found to be infringing on third-party content; or (ii) allowing the business to participate in the Competition could bring Sponsor into public disrepute or in any way impact the good standing or reputation of Sponsor in the eyes of the general public.
All entrants consent to the use and distribution by Sponsor and its promotional partners and agencies of the identifying information provided in the entries for marketing and/or sales promotional purposes without any attribution, identification, right of review or compensation, except where prohibited by law. Entries submitted without complete identifying information will not be eligible to win.
Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual entrant from participating in this Competition for conduct that violates these rules, the Platform’s Terms of Use, or that, in Sponsor’s reasonable judgment, compromises the fairness of this Competition, or is fraudulent in nature.
Sponsor will determine all Category Prize winners using these parameters, which will be verified by an audit (as referenced to below) of Sponsor’s records of the entrants’ business Gross Sales. All sales made by any entrant participating in the Competition during the Competition Period are subject to being audited by the Sponsor and/or its authorized representative. By participating in this Competition, all entrants consent to the disclosure of all relevant books and records to Sponsor and/or its authorized representative for purposes of verifying Gross Sales. Any failure by an entrant to provide the Sponsor or its authorized representative with all books and records necessary to verify the amount of Gross Sales during the Competition Period shall result in disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant based on the results of the audit of Gross Sales contemplated hereunder. All entrants consent to the publication of their business’ Gross Sales by way of number ranges and percentages on the Teachable website and elsewhere during and after the Competition Period. Entrants’ precise Gross Sales figures for their businesses will not be published by the Sponsor.
LICENSE TO BE FEATURED ON THE PLATFORM: Some creators who complete the Competition may be featured, along with their content, on the Platform. These features may include winners of the Competition, though we always look to feature our creators who use our Platform to reach people in unique, memorable, and effective ways. In reality, whenever you offer content on our Platform - regardless of whether you participate in the Competition - we may invite you to feature your content on our Platform.
All that said, in order for us to display your content on our Platform (in potentially a number of places online), we need to get a release from you up front that allows us to publish your content on our website and other places, and that allows us to do this publishing without having to get permission from you each time we do so. Further, we need you to agree that you are not being compensated for our display of your content, either for the original production or each time we subsequently publish it.
In legal terms, this means that by entering the Competition, you agree to provide Teachable with an unconditional, irrevocable, non-exclusive, non-transferrable, worldwide license allowing Teachable to use your name, photograph, video, voice, business/trade names, course/lecture titles, and other likenesses, for publishing, blogging, promotional, advertising, trade, and other purposes in connection with the Competition without further compensation to you. The license contemplated herein does not include your course content (if you are a Teachable creator), of which you retain all rights and ownership in alignment with Teachable’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
HOW TO ENTER: Eligible entrants may participate in the Competition by completing the following steps: If you are not an existing creator with Teachable, create a new account here.
Complete registration on our entry page and tell us about your creator journey by selecting a track from four tracks offered by the number of your followers on any social media platform and email lists. Kickoff Track - Less than 1000 followers Validate Track: 1,001-5,000 followers Notable Track: 5,001-10,000 followers Verified Track: More than 10,000 followers Registration must be completed by May 25, 2022. Fully registered entrants will receive a confirmation email from Teachable confirming their registration in the Competition.
ENTRY AND COMPETITION PERIOD: The Competition begins on April 1, 2022 North American Eastern Time and ends on September 30, 2022 North American Eastern Time (the “Competition Period”). A person is deemed an official entrant when a business registers for the Competition as detailed in these Official Rules.
Except where prohibited, the potential winners shall be required to complete and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability/publicity release (the “Affidavit/Release”) by a deadline to be determined by Sponsor prior to prize fulfillment. If a potential winner fails to sign and return the Affidavit/Release, and/or any other documentation required by Sponsor within the required time period, or if Notification and/or the prize is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner (the entrant with the next highest sales per the terms of the Competition) at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Acceptance of a prize constitutes consent to use the winner's name and likenesses for editorial, advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
A potential winner may also be disqualified for: (a) failing to provide the required information by the stated deadline; (b) a violation of any of these Official Rules (including failure to satisfy any eligibility requirements); or (c) any other reason affecting the fairness or propriety of this Competition as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: In the event that the operation, security, or administration of the Competition is impaired in any way for any reason, including, but not limited to fraud, virus, or other technical problem, the Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, either: (a) suspend the Competition to address the impairment and then resume the Competition in a manner that best conforms to the spirit of these Official Rules; or (b) award the prizes from among the eligible courses up to the time of the impairment. The Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the Competition or the operation of the Competition or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to undermine the legitimate operation of the Competition may be in violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, the Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. The Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. In case of a dispute as to the owner of a course, the course will be deemed to have been submitted by the Primary Owner of the Teachable school from which the course is housed.

Entries are subject to disqualification at any time if Sponsor reasonably determines in its sole discretion that allowing the business to participate in the Competition could bring Sponsor into public disrepute or in any way impact the good standing or reputation of Sponsor in the eyes of the general public. All entrants consent to the use and public distribution by Sponsor and its promotional partners and agencies of all the business identifying information provided in the entries for marketing and/or sales promotional purposes without any attribution, identification, right of review or compensation, except where prohibited by law. Entries submitted without complete identifying information will not be eligible to win. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual entrant from participating in this Competition for conduct that violates these rules or that, in Sponsor’s reasonable judgment, compromises the fairness of this Competition, including repackaging an old course as a new course without sufficient new material to warrant the entry into this Competition.
TAXES: Winners are responsible for all taxes on prizes and will receive a Form 1099 for the tax year 2022.
RELEASE AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: By participating in the Competition, entrants agree to release and hold harmless the Competition Entities, their officers, directors, employees, and agents (the "Released Parties") from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Competition or receipt or use of any prize, including, but not limited to: (a) unauthorized human intervention in the Competition; (b) technical errors related to computers, servers, providers, or telephone or network lines; (c) printing errors; (d) lost, late, postage-due, misdirected, or undeliverable mail; (e) errors in the administration of the Competition or the processing of entries; (f) injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from entrant's participation in the Competition or receipt of any prize; (g) other errors or problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, technical, network, electronic; or errors which may occur in connection with the administration of the Competition, (h) the processing of applications, presentations, or (i) the awarding or announcement of the winners in any other Competition-related materials. Entrant waives the right to claim any damages whatsoever, including, but not limited to, punitive, consequential, direct, or indirect damages. Entrant further agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all third party claims or causes of action arising out of or in any way related to entrant's product and the Released Parties’ use thereof as authorized herein, including, without limitation, any claims of infringement of intellectual property rights.
PRIVACY: By entering the Competition, you agree to Sponsor’s use of your personal information as described in the Privacy Policy. By entering the Competition, you grant Sponsor permission to share your contact information and any other personally identifiable information with for the purpose of Competition administration and prize fulfillment.
DISPUTES/GOVERNING LAW: Except where prohibited by law, You as the entrant agree that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Agreement shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. You further irrevocably and unconditionally agree that all issues, questions, disputes, or any other disagreements of any kind regarding shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York without application or reference to the principles of conflicts of law, whether of the State of New York or any other jurisdiction.
CONTEST RESULTS: To request the names of the winners, email your request with the subject line “The Next Big Creator Competition Winners” to [email protected]. Requests must be received by December 31, 2022.
SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS: The Competition may be advertised on or accessed through one or more social media platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram. However, the Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with, any such platforms. Entrants agree to comply with all terms and policies governing such platforms in connection with the Competition.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: Winners will be announced on October 31, 2022 and verification of all entrant information and eligibility will occur prior to any entrant receiving any cash prize. Prizes will be awarded within two weeks of verification of eligibility and the return of required affidavits of eligibility and release. Any verification not completed by December 1, 2022 will result in the winner being declared ineligible and the prize going to the next eligible winner. “Gross Sales” means the sum of all sales invoices (converted to U.S. Dollars by Sponsor, as necessary at the rate then available to the Sponsor), less any customer discounts, coupons, rebates, chargebacks or returns affecting an entrant’s balance sheet within a week after the close of the Competition. For the purposes of this Competition, a sale will be counted toward an entrant’s Gross Sales total as long as payment for that sale is processed through Teachable Payments before the end of the Competition Period; however, only sales processed using the Teachable Payments will be counted in this Competition, regardless of what is displayed in an entrant’s total school sales display. Only months during the Competition Period will be counted towards the Competition.
