Morning
6 a.m. to 7 a.m.
I try to get up before my kids so I can have a brief early spurt of productivity. I respond to emails and finish anything outstanding on the day before’s to-do list.
7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Breakfast with the kids (They’re 2 and 4 years old, and I had another baby in August). It’s always a bit hectic getting them ready for preschool but nice to be able to spend the first part of the morning together. My husband or I take them to preschool.
9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
I find it easiest to concentrate early in the day so I start by editing any videos I’m working on for YT tutorials or Teachable courses. Of all of my daily tasks, editing takes the most brain power!
10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Filming new cake designs and techniques for YT tutorials and Teachable courses.
Afternoon
12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Planning what to say when teaching how to do the design or technique I just filmed, while it is still fresh in my mind.
1:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.
I have lunch with my husband, which usually ends up being a brainstorming session on sales and marketing for British Girl Bakes!
2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
I pick up my kids from preschool and we spend the afternoon together. My husband joins us for dinner and we all spend the evening together.
Evening
8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Finish filming any cakes I didn’t finish earlier in the day. Work on tasks that don’t require deep concentration (record audio voiceovers for tutorials and courses, create quick reels for Instagram, design thumbnails for courses and YT videos). Prepare my to-do list for the next day so I don’t waste time in the morning thinking about what to do.
10 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Spend time with my husband and unwind from the day so I don’t dream about cakes!
